Looking After Community Spaces

Keeping Outside Areas Clean & Clear

Locals enjoying Green Park in LondonParks and Green Spaces are essential for communities, providing a place for people of all ages to enjoy the outdoors in their local area.

Not everyone respects their community spaces however and litter can become a problem if it’s not taken care of.

While the local council has certain duties, we like to encourage everyone to take responsibility within their community. Read more about ways to be greener in your community.

Here are three ways to keep your local area clean and rubbish free:

  1. Litter picking volunteer day – lots of towns hold successful schemes with volunteers spending a couple of hours picking up litter in parks, beaches and open spaces. Click here to read more about volunteering and community activities.
  2. Local council provide bins – get in touch with your local council to provide plenty of rubbish and recycling bins around shopping centres and parks so that people can conveniently dispose of their litter.
  3. Rubbish removal – for bigger jobs in London and Kent you can hire a rubbish clearance company to clear a site and remove any and all waste from an area. The waste will then be disposed of responsibly. These companies will also take on garden clearance work.
